Special Testing Arrangements
Special Testing Arrangements
At OET, we understand that our candidates may face unique challenges, and we’re here to ensure everyone has an equal opportunity to demonstrate their English proficiency.
Our Special Testing Arrangements are designed to support individuals with diverse needs. Whether you have a permanent disability like hearing or sight impairments, dyslexia, speech impediments, or temporary conditions such as a broken arm, we will accommodate your needs.
We provide administrative arrangements, which include extra time, supervised breaks, and assistance with reading or writing. These arrangements aim to make the testing process accessible to all candidates with special needs. Extra time is specifically provided for candidates with medical conditions or those requiring infant feeding breaks, with the duration of extra time tailored to the specific condition, ensuring fairness in the testing experience.
We provide modified test materials tailored to the specific needs of candidates, ensuring that they have the best opportunity to perform on test day.
We provide candidates with visual impairments access to enlarged print materials for the Listening, Reading, and Writing sub-tests. For the Speaking sub-test, print versions of the tasks can also be provided upon request to support candidates in completing the test effectively. Braille papers may be available upon request, subject to availability and sufficient notice.
For OET Test on Paper, we provide lip-reading versions for the Listening sub-test, further expanding accessibility for candidates with specific needs.
