OET wins prestigious export award

OET, the global leader in English language testing specifically for healthcare professionals, has won a 2021 Governor of Victoria Export Award, taking home the award in the ‘Professional Services’ category. The award recognises OET’s phenomenal growth over the past three years and its international success in particular.

The Governor of Victoria Export Awards are held annually by Global Victoria and are the Australian state’s most prestigious. This year’s awards focused on organisations that showed outstanding innovation and resilience during the COVID-19 pandemic, while continuing to grow their export operations.

Despite the disruption caused by the pandemic, OET remained focused on its vision of connecting the world to better healthcare and developed and launched its innovative healthcare-specific test on computer which can be taken securely both at a test venue or at home, expanded test venue capacity globally to meet the increased demand for OET,  and extended the adoption of OET in the USA and Canada.

Having won the State award, OET now proceeds as a national finalist in the 59th Australian Export Awards.

OET CEO Sujata Stead said:

We are absolutely thrilled to have been awarded a 2021 Governor of Victoria Export Award. The judges commented that the Professional Services category was the most highly competitive of all so to achieve an award in this category is particularly pleasing.

OET was developed in Melbourne and is today the global leader in healthcare English language communication. As such, we are proud to be a truly Australian success story.

At the online awards ceremony, attended by the Honourable Linda Dessau AC, Governor of Victoria, OET was noted for its commitment to healthcare professionals during this challenging time, and acknowledged as an important player in the global healthcare system.

Healthcare professionals around the world use their OET results to register to work in English speaking countries, including in the UK, USA, Canada, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and Singapore. Healthcare organisations turn to OET to ensure their doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals have the right level of profession specific English language and communication skills needed for safe, effective and high-quality patient care.
