OET, the English language test for healthcare professionals, will be available at its 20th test venue in India from June 2020. The new Cochin test venue will be managed by Ebek Cochin. OET is the world’s only international English language test specifically for healthcare professionals who would like to work in an English-speaking environment. It provides assessment of all four language skills – listening, reading, writing and speaking – through test material designed to reflect real communication scenarios that candidates are likely to encounter in the healthcare workplace.
G. Sreekanthan, MD and Chairman of Ebek, said: “We are very pleased to offer OET in Cochin. This will enable health care professionals to register for the OET test in their own hometown, thus eliminating the need and stress of travelling long distances to sit the test. Ebek is committed to providing academic support to institutions and candidates preparing for the OET test.
By opening this new venue, we are also committed to supporting OET Test takers with a convenient new venue to take the test post this pandemic lockdown.”
Ebek already manages OET test venues in both Chennai and Kottayam.
OET CEO, Sujata Stead, said: “It seems fitting that we open our 20th test venue in India in 2020. India, and the State of Kerala in particular, are renowned world-wide for the training of excellent healthcare professionals and we are proud to be able to contribute to their professional development by ensuring they have the English language skills to provide high quality and safe care.
“We look forward to resuming OET testing in India as soon as the situation allows and are confident that an additional test venue in Cochin will be highly valued by healthcare professionals there,” she added.
