The Occupational English Test (OET) is now recognised by Charles Darwin University giving healthcare professionals in the region an opportunity to improve their educational and career prospects.
Healthcare professionals who achieve required results in the healthcare-specific OET to prove English proficiency will be able to apply for the Bachelor of Nursing and Bachelor of Midwifery programs.

OET allows the organisation to accurately understand applicants’ ability to communicate safely within the English medium. OET is a recognised process for assessing candidates’ who apply for the Bachelor of Nursing and Bachelor of Midwifery programs.
OET is an international English language test that assesses the language skills of healthcare professionals seeking to register and practice in an English-speaking environment. OET is recognised by Australian and New Zealand Immigration for visa purposes, as well as healthcare regulators in Australia, New Zealand, UK, Ireland and Singapore for registration purposes. OET is also accepted by healthcare educators for admission and exit assessment of English language skills.
