OET, the only global English test for healthcare professionals, has partnered with Trace to offset its carbon footprint.  

The partnership with Trace helps move OET towards becoming a climate positive organisation by using carbon offsets to reduce CO2 pollution.  

With the help of Trace, OET is now measuring and offsetting emissions produced through our operations, staff activities and customer delivery. In August alone, it has offset 519t CO2 and planted 2,967 trees by funding eight climate positive projects around the world.  

OET is funding carbon offset projects in Australia, Rwanda, Kenya and India. Alongside reducing CO2 pollution, OET funded projects work towards the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals that address poverty, education, health, social protection and more.  

OET is committed to its responsibility to operate sustainably to ensure a healthier future for our world. The partnership is one of the ways it will begin to be accountable for the emissions we create.

OET is the world’s only international English language test specifically for healthcare professionals. The test assesses the communication skills of healthcare professionals who seek to register and practice in an English-speaking environment.

OET results are accepted by healthcare regulators world-wide, including in the USA, Canada, the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand,  Dubai and Singapore. The test is also recognised in Australia and New Zealand for visa and immigration purposes, while doctors and nurses in the UK are not required to take a separate English language test when applying for a Tier 2 (General) visa if they have provided OET results as proof of English proficiency to their healthcare regulator.
